Plugins and integrations

There is no official plugin, and that is said plainly rather than hinted at. What there is: a plain REST API that drops into WordPress, Sheets, n8n, Make and Zapier with no custom code at all.

01

What does not exist

There is no WordPress plugin in the directory, no WooCommerce extension and no published npm package. Claiming otherwise would waste your afternoon, so: there is not one.

What makes that survivable is that the API is three GET endpoints with a header. Every tool below talks to it with its generic HTTP block, which is usually less work than configuring somebody else's plugin — and it never leaves you waiting on an update when a field changes.

02

No-code: Make, Zapier, n8n

Use the HTTP / Webhook module. Method GET, URL below, and one header. Everything after that is the tool's own mapping.

Method:  GET
URL:     https://api.encar-api.com/api/cars?manufacturer=Hyundai&count=50
Header:  x-api-key: YOUR_KEY

Response path to iterate:  results
Total matches:             total

Google Sheets

Apps Script, pasted into Extensions → Apps Script, gives you a live sheet of Korean inventory that a non-technical colleague can filter and sort. Store the key with Script Properties rather than in the sheet, which anyone you share the file with can read.

function pullEncar() {
  const key = PropertiesService.getScriptProperties().getProperty("ENCAR_KEY");
  const res = UrlFetchApp.fetch(
    "https://api.encar-api.com/api/cars?manufacturer=Kia&count=100",
    { headers: { "x-api-key": key } }
  );
  const cars = JSON.parse(res.getContentText()).results;
  const rows = cars.map(c => [
    c.Id, c.en.manufacturer, c.en.model, c.FormYear,
    c.Mileage, Math.round(c.Price * 6.7), c.en.fuelType
  ]);
  const sheet = SpreadsheetApp.getActiveSheet();
  sheet.clear();
  sheet.appendRow(["Id","Make","Model","Year","Km","EUR","Fuel"]);
  sheet.getRange(2, 1, rows.length, 7).setValues(rows);
}

WordPress and WooCommerce

Drop this in a small plugin file or your theme's functions.php. It caches for an hour with the transients API, which matters more than it looks: without it every page view spends a request against your daily allowance, and a free key is gone after a hundred visitors.

function encar_cars($args = []) {
    $key = 'encar_' . md5(serialize($args));
    if ($hit = get_transient($key)) return $hit;

    $res = wp_remote_get(
        add_query_arg($args, 'https://api.encar-api.com/api/cars'),
        ['headers' => ['x-api-key' => getenv('ENCAR_API_KEY')], 'timeout' => 20]
    );
    if (is_wp_error($res)) return [];

    $cars = json_decode(wp_remote_retrieve_body($res), true)['results'] ?? [];
    set_transient($key, $cars, HOUR_IN_SECONDS);
    return $cars;
}

If you want a wrapper

A typed client for three GET endpoints is about twenty lines, and writing it against the field reference takes less time than evaluating a dependency. The importers on the clients page all did exactly that.

FAQ

Questions people ask about this

Is there an official Encar API WordPress plugin?

No. There is no WordPress plugin, WooCommerce extension or npm package. The API is three GET endpoints with an x-api-key header, so WordPress can call it with wp_remote_get in a few lines — cached with transients so page views do not spend your daily allowance.

Can I use the Encar API without writing code?

Yes. Make, Zapier and n8n can call it with their generic HTTP module — GET, one URL, one header — and Google Sheets can with a short Apps Script. Snippets for both are on this page.
