Where the data comes from: Korea
What the source actually is, what is preserved from it unchanged, and the limits that follow from reading a Korean marketplace rather than a global one.

Encar.com is the largest used car marketplace in South Korea, and it publishes no public API. This service reads the same listings and serves them as JSON. It is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Encar.com.
Around 200,000 listings are live at any time, which is the whole marketplace rather than a curated subset. Inventory on a market that size turns over quickly — the reason single-vehicle lookups carry a live availability check instead of trusting a cached record.
What stays Korean
Source values are preserved exactly as Encar publishes them, with translations added alongside rather than replacing them. That is a deliberate choice: a translation is lossy, and an importer who needs to match a car back to its original listing needs the original string.
- Manufacturer, Model and Badge keep their Korean values — 현대, 그랜저 IG, 2.4 프리미엄
- FuelType and Transmission stay Korean — 가솔린, 오토
- OfficeCityState is a Korean region name — 서울 — telling you where the car physically stands
- The en and de blocks hold the same car translated; render those, keep the originals for matching
What the data cannot tell you
Stated plainly, because finding out later is expensive. This is listing data: what the seller published. It is not an inspection, not a title history and not a customs assessment.
- No accident or title history — a Korean performance record exists but is not part of a listing
- No export or customs cost — duty and VAT depend on your destination, not on the listing
- No shipping quote — route and timing are between you and your forwarder
- Price is the asking price in Korea, excluding export preparation and freight
