First, confirm the car still exists
Korean listings move fast, and a car under contract or already sold can linger in search results. Before anyone sends money, the individual listing has to be re-checked rather than trusted from a search page. Programmatically that is a detail call: a withdrawn vehicle answers 404 with a SOLD_OR_REMOVED code, which is the signal to drop it.
What the Korean price is not
The number on a listing is the domestic asking price. It does not include export preparation, inland transport to the port, the export certificate and deregistration, ocean freight, insurance, or anything that happens after the car lands. Budget for those separately from the start — the listing price is the beginning of the sum, not most of it.
Documents and deregistration
A car leaving Korea has to be deregistered domestically and issued export paperwork before it can be shipped. In practice this is handled by the exporter or forwarder you work with rather than by you directly, but it is the step that determines your timeline, so it is worth asking who is doing it and when.
RORO or container
Roll-on/roll-off is cheaper per unit and is the normal choice for running vehicles moving in volume; containers cost more but protect the car and let you consolidate parts or multiple vehicles. Which makes sense depends on your destination port and how many cars you move at a time, not on the car itself.
Duties are a local question — ask locally
Import duty, VAT, age limits and emissions rules differ by country and change, and getting them wrong is expensive. We will not quote figures here, because the only reliable source is your own customs authority or a broker in your market. Importers running on this API — in Germany, Belarus and Kosovo — each work to a different set of rules.
Doing it more than once
One car is a phone call. A hundred cars a month is a data problem: you need current inventory on your own site, prices that update, and sold cars that disappear on their own. That is what this API is for, and the dealers listed on the clients page run exactly that way.
